Hi 👋 I’m Laura… photographer turned photographer’s coach, cheerleader, and advocate.. oh and friend. I love this community with all my heart and have made so many friends on the same path.

Over the years I’ve met women who started their photography business with a heart full and camera dangling, charged with a calling.

But along the way, hit speed bumps that made them wonder “what the…?!” I DIDN’T KNOW THIS WAS HARD. The passion turns into task lists and scrambling for childcare to fit in sessions and fretting.

The excitement fades as we spend hours editing and then paying taxes and not keeping up with the emails and worrying about not booking enough because this is a saturated market.

Maybe that was just me. 🤷‍♀️ If you can relate, type BEEN THERE in the comments.

Here’s the thing though. The business that brought you joy and satisfaction is still there. You’re just wearing foggy glasses. You’ve lost site of your purpose that’s been buried deep under tasks and fear and worry. You zapped the fun. It’s not your fault. It’s the way of things.

But now you are aware. And awareness brings clarity. And clarity means it’s time to remove the foggy glasses.

Dream again my friend. Reconnect with your purpose and if you never had one, let’s find it. It’s there. God didn’t set you up for this calling to watch you fall off the cliff. You have a unique gift to share with the world.

Do you dream big or small? ⁠

I don't mean having little dreams like getting a manicure or big dreams like traveling the world. ⁠
⁠
I mean SMALL like saying you want to do something vs BIG like getting into the super specific details of this dream. Let me give you an example.⁠
⁠
A few years ago I was dreaming about going to Europe with the kids. I was dreaming small for a few months, just sort of dropping it into conversations. It almost sounded like whining. ⁠
⁠
Then one day, I started looking at which countries I'd want to take the kids.⁠
Then I added dates to my Hopper app so it would notify me of flight prices.⁠
Then I started adding up expenses.⁠
Then I planned out how many sessions I needed to add to my already scheduled sessions to cover these expenses.⁠
Then I started looking at restaurants.⁠
And I had a pinterest board of outfits.⁠
⁠
Y'all. This was all BEFORE we had picked solid dates, confirmed we were going to do this, had the money or bought tickets. ⁠
⁠
This is dreaming BIG. It's visualizing in granular detail what you want to make happen. It's feeling it, tasting it, seeing it. Me walking down the Seine river in a darling sundress and sandals, hand-in-hand with the kids. Sitting at a cafe, sipping espresso with Scott while our kids tried their first REAL croissant. Mila seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time. ⁠

I saw our trip in vivid detail before we booked it. Why? ⁠
⁠
Because thoughts become actions.⁠
⁠
Dream BIG! It's one step towards making them come true.⁠
⁠
⁠

One of the reasons my clients invest in documenting their family is because they want to live a full life. And that includes investing in luxuries. HAVING GORGEOUS PHOTOS OF YOUR FAMILY IS A LUXURY! And so is a tropical vacation, a nice car, date nights, and a pretty handbag. These are all luxuries. Investing in yourself in these ways is one part of living life fully. ⁠

Maybe you need to change your schedule.⁠
Maybe you need to invest in yourself first.⁠

We are moving today! Not the studio. That would be awful to do again. Our home! I am a mess. At the beginning of this year, I manifested this new house. Truly. A nearly identical house is on my vision board for 2023.⁠
